How to Catalog a LEGO Collection
A practical guide to cataloguing LEGO sets in a private vault — set numbers, copies, shelves, and wishlist items.
Start with the set number
Every LEGO set has an official set number (for example 75192). Names can vary by market; the number is the stable identity.
Search Studinary’s catalog by number or name, open the set page, and add it to your vault. Track duplicate copies as separate records when needed.
Separate owned sets, copies, and wishlist items
Your collection is what you own. Your wishlist is what you plan to buy. Favorites are shortcuts — they are not inventory.
If you own two copies of the same set, record them as copies instead of inventing a vague quantity field.
Add shelves as storage locations
Shelves map to real places: display case, sealed boxes, parts drawers. Shelf names stay private unless you publish a public profile.
You do not need perfect data on day one — add locations where you actually search for sets.
Import instead of retyping
If you already have a Rebrickable, Brickset, or CSV export, use vault import and review the match report before confirming.
After import, check unmatched rows, duplicates, and anything that still needs manual verification.
